Description
Geophysical survey was conducted in advance of proposed development. The works comprised detailed geomagnetic survey of a proposed development area measuring approx. 5.9ha, commissioned by Crestwood Environmental on behalf of Strutt & Parker Farms and conducted by Archaeological Services Durham University. Results included many weak, broad geomagnetic anomalies which reflect periglacial ice wedge casts, possible ridge and furrow was identified in the north-west of the area. No other archaeological features were seen but existing featues include a service and telegraph poles were detected (S1).
