Description

Strip, Map and excavation were carried out following phases of geophysical survey and evaluation ahead of a reservoir. The development area is about 2.7km south-east of Euston Hall. The reservoir including its surrounding bund will cover 6ha in total. 4.4ha of this area will be disturbed by the contruction groundworks. Stripping of the site entailed the removal of c.0.3m-0.5m tof topsoil and small amounts of subsoil that was often heavily distributed by on site quarrying and overlaid the natural geology of sandy-clay, pure clay and clayey-silty-sand (S1).
