Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on the excavation of footing trenches for the construction of a house and garage. All trenches were open for inspection and revealed a natural subsoil of mixed chalk and yellow silty sands underneath a 0.4m to 0.7m thick build-up of modern topsoil. The northern half of the site was heavily disturbed by a septic tank and modern features to a depth of 1.20m to 1.50m. There was no evidence of any archaeological finds or features (S1).
