Description

An archaeological evaluation was carried out on the northern part of the former livestock market, Risbygate Street, prior to the residential development of the site. Four trial trenches were excavated, totalling 87.20m in length. The trenches varied in length between 14.50m and 29.50m. All the trenches were 1.5m in width. The overburden was removed by mechanical excavation and all further investigations were undertaken by hand (S1).
