Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out during the site strip and trench excavation for a new garage/cart lodge. The groundworks were undertaken by a sub-contractor and involved stripping the main building by up to 0.3m below ground level. 0.6m wide trenches were excavated around the outside down to a maximum depth of 1.45m. The only features of interest were likely late medieval to post medieval backfill of the moat (S1).
