Description
Archaeological monitoring of ground works for a new house did not reveal any archaeological features. Stray finds of 11th-12th century pottery sherds were found in the stripped subsoil. The stripped footprint area for the new house was c170 meters squared and a uniform deposit profile comprising 300mm of topsoil over 200mm of a mid brown sandy subsoil was revealed with the exposed locally occurring natural glaciofluvial material at a depth of 500mm being yellow sand with flints (S1).
