Site Event/Activity record ESF24356 - Geophysical Survey - Land north of Old Stowmarket Road, Woolpit, Suffolk

Magnetometer survey of an area of land prior to a proposed residential development. The detailed magnetic survey was carried out using a SENSYS MAGNETO®MXPDA 5 channel cart-based system. The instrument has 5 fluxgate gradiometers spaced 0.5m apart with readings recorded at 20Hz. Data was collected along a series of parallel survey tracks wherever possible however the length of each track is variable and relates to the size of the survey area and other factors including ground conditions. Data are not collected within fixed grids and data points are considered to be random. The survey identified the presence of previous field boundaries and the location of land drains (S1).
