Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on the excavation of footings prior to the construction of a new cart lodge. The groundworks consisted of strip footings over an area of 3.75m by 9.5m. The footings were excavated to a depth of 0.9m and revealed topsoil overburden to a depth of 0.4m. This context is likely to represent limited occupation and garden soil build up within the confines of the moated enclosure. No finds or features were identified.
