Description
Archaeological monitoring was carried out on engineering test pits on the site. The seven test pits each measured 0.6m wide and between 1.5m and 2m long. The monitoring revealed that the topsoil had been stripped from the site although between 0.2m and 0.6m of subsoil was present over much of the site. It was clear that the ground had experienced truncation. The monitoring revealed relatively recent deep quarry pits.
