Description
Trial trenching revealed further extensive ground disturbance truncating the original ground surface to a considerable depth. Initially a north-south trench was opened and a 6m length was taken to a depth of 1m. A second trench was opened and extended to a length of 2.5m. Again in this trench the mid brown sandy fill went down to 1.5m plus indicating an extensive area of quarrying.
