Description

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on the site of a proposed new car park opposite the Hospital on York road at RAF Lakenheath. Seven trenches were excacated 1.6m wide and totalling 125.6m and were between 0.22m to 0.6m deep. The trial trenches identified a high density of archaeological features apparently representing a series of enclosures dating to the Late Iron Age or early Roman period.
