Description
Trial trench evaluation was carried out in advance of planned construction works associated with a new dwelling. No archaeological finds or features were found. One trench was excavated to a depth of 0.92m. The deposit model consisted of topsoil which was dark brown-grey, loose, sandy silt to a depth of 0.40m and overlay Modern sand to a thickness of 0.16-0.56m. The subsoil was 0.36m in thickness and present to a depth of 0.92m consisting of mid brown orange, compact, sandy silt with infrequent, sub angular flint gravel inclusions. The final layer in the stratigraphic sequence was Natural Geology consisting of a igt yellow orange, loose silty sand with infrequent, sub angular flint gravel inclusions (S1).
