Site Event/Activity record ESF25134 - Monitoring - Land North of Lion Road, Glemsford

Archaeological monitoring was carried out on the eastern side of the site. The method of construction meant that the archaeological levels would not be exposed and therefore monitoring was undertaken rather than open area excavation. No archaeological features could be seen in the subsoil, although the line of a ditch could be followed across the site through a concentration of pottery finds. In the southern site edge, thirty-five sherds of a Roman vessel were recovered.
