Description
Monitoring of ground works for a new barn and store building, an initial site visit and a further visit to monitor the excavation of the stanchion base pits for the planned building and examined the new garden area. Soil strip varied in depth 0.3m-1.8m cut into locally occuring natural boulder clay Till deposit. 0.25m of top soil with 0.25m-0.45m below of mid brown clay subsoil. Nearly 50 stanchion pits were excavated each being 1m deep cut into undisturbed chalky boulder clay with occassional pockets of fine yellow sand. The area for the new garden closer to the church was also examined but minimal soil stripping following the demolition of the prev farm building (S1).
