Description
Second phase of evaluation at the Treatt Site. Twenty trenches were excavated. Trenches 1,3-6,8-13,15 and 17-20 did not contain archaeological features. The geological substrate was overlain by a light brown grey sand and silt mixed subsoil which in turn was sealed by a mid grey brown sand silt topsoil. Trenches , 5-6,10,11, 13, 15, 17-20 comprised geological substrate overlain by topsoil alone with no evidence of an intervening subsoil layer (S1).
