Description
Evaluation was carried out in advance of a housing development. Five trenches titalling 50m were machanically excavated but no significant archaeological features or deposits were identified. Two of the trenches, including the one near the road frontage, encountered deep disturbances realting to 20th century activit. A further trench adjacent to the road frontage revealed natura lsubsoil at a relatively shallow depth but this had clearly been truncated by a modern surface. Undisturbed natural subsoil deposits were only encountered in the two trenches to the rear of the plot (S1).
