Description
Watching Brief conducted, this site was a car park surfaced with tarmac. The site had previously been investigated with test pits in 1991 (IAS 4002). 5 test pits were dug adjacent to walls of the existing buildings which surround the car park. The pits were 0.6m-1m deep. All of the pits revealed the footings, construction trenches and service pipes associated with the existing buildings and possibly other prev structures. No subsoil or natural deposits were revealed and no archaeological features or finds were seen. Report did not include any drawings with the location of the test pits therefore map shows approximate location (S1).
