Description
Watching brief of stripped area to inspect the works associated with the extension to the bar/public house fronting the Wet Dock. The new extension was to be built on a raft foundation supported by piles. At the time of the visit the area of the new raft had been reduced to the required depth of c. 300mm. This had entailed removing the concrete hard standing and sub-base which revealed a dark loam, similar to topsoil but no significant features, deposits or artefacts were revealed (S1).
