Description
Monitoring during topsoil stripping of the proposed northern extension of the quarry. Arising from the monitoring and recording the present excavation revealed 625 features. The site consisted of a single arable field of 14.5ha bisected by an overhead powerline. The bund of the working quarry formed the southern and eastern boundaries of the excavation area. The western and northern sides were bordered by roads and a small semi-circle of woodland. 6 areas were stripped. The topsoil and undifferentiated subsoil were stripped using a mechanical excavator (S1)
