Site Event/Activity record ESF25942 - Evaluation Phase 1 - Land North-West of Bury St Edmunds

Trial trench evaluation conducted ahead of residential development a little over 66ha that were subdivided into 7 individual areas. Phase 1 involved the excavation of 120 evaluation trenches across the northern and southern extents of the area. 54 trenches containing 63 features were excavated at the northern end. The features were concentrated towards the western end of Area 1 with an addition swathe of activity running eas-west across the central eastern portion. 66 trenches were excavated across the southern end of the PDA which indentified 45 featured concentrated towards the north-east corner of the area with a lower density of features towards the southern end (S1).
