Description
An assessment report was commissioned by the National Trust, and carried out by the SCCAS Field Projects Team between December 1996 and February 1997 ahead of a proposed Visitor Centre with associated carparks c500m north of the Sutton Hoo ship burials. The assessment indicates that other than the possible remnants of the sheepfold, there are unlikely to be any post medieval or medieval structures in the area (S1).
