Description
Evaluation was carried out ahead of an eight dwelling development in an area with a relatively high local water table. 8 trenchs were excavated to a depth of 0.45-0.8m with 0.3-0.4m of topsoil, where it had not been previously removed to create the menage, above 0.2-0.45m of mid brown sandy subsoil. The natural glaciofluvial deposit at the site was silty orange sand with flints with extensive areas of dark brown heavy iron panning in some trenches (S1).
