Description
Monitoring works at a new bridging point involving the excavation of seven smal trenches over areas of high impact, associated with the erection of the bridge foundations. The wroks revealed that prior to the trenching, a maximum of 0.2m of topsoil had been removed to lay down concrete crush to stabilise the area. The trneches revealed a thick layer of subsoil (up to 0.5m) below the remaining topsoil (up tp 0.2m). No archaeological features or finds were identified.
