Description
Ground penetrating radar was carried out as part of a wider archaeological assessment by SCC on behalf of the National Horse Racing Museum. The survey targeted the known location of the 17th century stable block and was successful at recording elements of the original stable which correlated with Fort's plan of 1760. Also anomalies of a possible earlier structure were seen. However, the number and complexity of service features have been a major complicating factor in the interpretation of the dataset despite the use of a multi-channel high density GPR array (S1).
