Description

2018: Between 18th June and 1st August 2018, Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd. carried out an archaeological excavation on land to the east of Barrow Hill, Barrow, Suffolk. The work was commissioned by Hopkins Homes through CgMs Heritage, their archaeological consultant. The aim of the excavation was to investigate archaeological remains of medieval and postmedieval date that had been identified by a geophysical survey and an archaeological evaluation of the site carried out in 2016. The excavation comprised a roughly L-shaped area of 0.7 ha in the southwest corner of the proposed development site.
