Description
Damage to E gate jamb and abutment caused by a lorry. A large vertical crack has opened in the join between to abutting elements of the wall. It is to be taken down and rebuilt. Visual assessment indicates that the area to be rebuilt is not medieval and is likely to be relatively modern work, though on the line of the medieval wall. The rebuilding was an accurate reconstruction of the original work (S1).
