Description
A watching brief was carried out following the excavation of a footing trench during an alteration to the rear of this property. An excavated trench c.3m long and 1.2m deep was examined, the spoil having been removed from the site. The section was made up of grey brown clay loam over solid natural chalk. All the ground was made up with peg tile frequent in the fill. Similar soil profile to Angel Lane, suggest significant rise in ground from Late Medieval period (S1).
