Description
Twelve trenches, each 30m in length, were excavated. The trenches revealed a natural subsoil consisting of yellow to orange gravelly sand (Plate 1) just lay immediately below the modern topsoil at a depth of c.0.3m. The topsoil directly overlay the natural subsoil with an abrupt interface. Archaeological features were identified in Trenches 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 11.
