Description
Trial trench evaluation, compromising forty-three trenches. The observed geology within the western field was consistent throughout the trenches, consisting of a dark grey compact clay with frequent chalk inclusions. Topsoil 0001 was also relatively consistent in this field, measuring 0.3-0.4m in thickness and was a midbrown moderately compact silty clay agricultural soil with occasional large flint and chalk lump inclusions. Subsoil 0002 varied from 0.2-0.3m in thickness, it was a moderately
compact mid grey clay with occasional chalk and flint inclusions and contained modern glass and horse shoes.
