Description
2019: In January and February 2019 Archaeological Solutions Ltd carried out archaeological evaluation on land to the west of the Plough and Fleece Inn, Great Green, Cockfield in advance of the construction of 10 dwellings. Five trenches were excavated measuring 30.00m x 1.80m. Topsoil was present to a depth of 0.22-0.24m, below was a subsoil present to a depth of 0.25-0.36m. At the base of the trenches was natural clay geology encountered at a depth of 0.26-0.36m below the surface. (S1)
