Description
The watching brief observed and recorded the ground investigation contractor’s excavation of geotechnical test pits and borehole starter pits, carried out to inform plans/proposals for hotel refurbishment and redevelopment within its car park. The majority of the test pits and borehole starter pits were dug by hand by the ground investigations contractor to their required depths. The window samples extracted from the boreholes themselves were not observed. The excavation of six test pits and the starter pits for five boreholes were monitored.
