Description
Archaeological evaluation on a proposed residential development site. A total of 63 trenches, measuring 30m x 2m, were excavated. The soil sequence across the site was farily uniform. The natural geology of clay with flint and stone inlcusions was overlain by a silty clay interface layer (c.0.1m thick), which in turn was overlain by topsoil (c.0.3m thick). No subsoil was present in any of the trenches.
