Description

A record and analysis at English Heritage (2006) Level 2 of the secondary structures adjoining the rear elevation of the Guildhall and includes only brief comment on the medieval building. It is intended to be read in conjunction with the detailed historic account of the complex by Margaret Statham (‘The Guildhall, Bury St Edmunds’, Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History Vol. 31 1968) together with a recent Conservation Statement by Bob Carr; while emphasising relevant details it avoids unnecessary duplication of their content.
