Description
Evaluation trenching for a planned residential development comprising ten dwellings adjacent to The Street and 300m north of the parish church did not reveal any archaeological features though a deep depression (over 2.00m deep) with a clean silty sand fill was found in the southern trench and is interpreted as a natural feature extending over a large area close to an existing gas pipeline which precluded further investigation on the southern edge of the site. The few stray finds from the site were of later Post medieval and modern date.
