Site Event/Activity record ESF28454 - Excavation, Land at Warren Farm, The Street

Archaeological excavation was undertaken by Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd (PCA) on a plot of land at Warren Farm, Badwell Ash, Suffolk. The archaeological investigation consisted of two excavation areas (Areas 1 and 2) and two additional evaluation trenches (Trenches 18 and 19) that were positioned to further investigate archaeological remains identified by the evaluation. Area 1 was located in the western part of site and measured approximately 40m north to south by 20m east to west (0.08ha). Area 2 was an irregularly-shaped area covering c. 0.26ha. The two areas were separated by a c. 6m wide exclusion zone that was set up to protect a foul sewer that crossed the western part of the site from north to south. The two 20m trenches were located in the central part of the site to further investigate areas of made-ground identified in Trench 15 of the evaluation.
