Description
Evaluation trenching and monitoring in the area of a listed 16th-17th century barn for conversion did not reveal any archaeological features at a site with some ground truncation. Two trenches were excavated totalling 9m in length. The trenches were 0.45-0.55m deep. The locally occurring natural deposit as anticipated proved to be light grey-brown clay with flints.
*NOTE* - Position of trench 1 in Fig 2 is incorrect, should be located on N side of barn (projecting N from the W end of barn) see proposed trench plan in WSI in appendix.
