Description
A programmes of improvements to the Nettlestead church were undertaken including re-roofing the nave and chancel, new rainwater goods and the installation of new drains. The latter involved the removal of some existing gullies and some of the coarse flint gravel from within a former French drain around the building. Six new gullies were installed with ceramic drains along the north, east and south sides of the church and two drains, from these, leading across the south churchyard to drain into the ditch at its southern side. Archaeological work involved observation and recording during the groundworks in the churchyard.
