Description
Coracle Archaeology was commissioned by Pelagian Ltd to undertake marine archaeological assessments, including a watching brief during landfall installation works, for the Circe North 2 submarine telecommunications cable. Circe North 2 is a sub-sea fibre optic telecommunications cable system, running approximately 200km between Pakefield, Suffolk, UK and Zandoort in the Netherlands. The watching brief was conducted in two phases: Phase One, during excavations to expose and locate the existing duct at the head of the beach at Pakefield, Suffolk; and Phase Two, during cable landing and burial. Results were negative.
