Description
Archaeological trial trenching prior to residential development. 24no trenches measuring 30m x 1.8m were excavated, distributed evenly across the development site. The evaluation trenching revealed evidence of mainly 19th to early 20th field boundaries shown on historic mapping of the area, as well as locating two of the backfilled ponds also shown on 19th century mapping of the area. The trial trench evaluation confirmed the results of a previous geophysical survey which showed no archaeological features on the site.
