Description
Three evaluation trenches were excavated on site, one measuring 15m long by 1.8m wide and the remaining two trenches each 20m long by 1.8m wide.All three trenches showed the same stratigraphic sequence, comprising natural superficial geology of moderately compact, light yellowish grey silty clay with occasional stone, sealed by 0.30m thick alluvium of greyish brown clayey silt and 0.40m thick topsoil. No archaeological features or finds where identified. A palaeochannel was present on the site.
