Full Description
Found by Chris Davey's grandfather in his back garden some years ago. Possibly taken to Norwich Museum for identification.
Believed to be short cross silver penny issued between 1180-1247 during reigns of Henry II, Richard I, John, Henry III all of whom minted coins "HENRYCUS REX" sic (Henricus?). The moneyer appears to be "SIMVN" who was licensed to strike coinage at Canterbury in the reign of John (1199-1216) (S1).
