Full Description

1955: Entry in Briscoe diary "He (Dr Parsons) said, mess of copper been found at Icklingham, Telegraph" (S1).

1964: Surface find of socketed axe at in Telegraph Plantation (S1,S2). Apparently found in ploughsoil. Short socketed axe with 3 short parallel ribs. 8.5 cms long (S3).

1984: A further group of bronze socketed axes, "probably 3 or 4", was found in same field as 1964 axe, on "edge of (modern) pit", "many years ago" (S3, S4).

However, no pit is shown on OS maps at this location, although several are shown slightly to N around Possibly some confusion over findspot, although it does appear at least one single hoard is represented.
