Full Description
"Thousands of Neolithic implements have been found in the two Icklingham parishes, including polished and unpolished axes, triangular knives, arrowheads, perforated hammers, and leaf-shaped, lunate and ground-edge knives. Some of these are figured and described in Evans' (S1)(R1). `Icklingham flint implements are preserved in the British Museum in the museum of Antiquaries of Scotland, in the Cambridge Museum of Archaeology, Blackmore Museum (Salisbury), Norwich & Ipswich (see CRNs 10338-9) Museums, Thetford Mechanics' Institute, and many private collections" (S1). Further large collections are housed in Mildenhall (also see IKL 010) & Moyses Hall Museums (also see IKL 007,008,009,012).
