Full Description
`Hallstatt D' (?) bronze brooch, `leech' type, scratched line & chevron type pattern on bow, length 6.5 cms (S1)(S2).
? Same as "3522", Icklingham (NW Suffolk) locality claimed: Bury St Edmunds Mus Z61, ex Acton collection, in which various acceptably local finds were many, but some non-local" ... "complete, but catch is bent sideways: bow of round cross-section cast solid but rather slender, with designs of chevrons". Hull & Hawkes type `B', dating from the LBA to EIA though possibly Roman importations of some & modern importations of others (S3). Cited findspot dubious.
