Full Description
Coin hoard of 1064 coins, listed as 897 bronze coins from Gallienus (AD 253) to Honorius and 61 silver coins from Constantius II (AD 323) to Honorius (S1). Found in an earthenware bowl in 1902 (S2)(R1). Archer states "it is difficult to believe that the three (silver) Icklingham hoards (see IKL 060 & Misc Rom) are not part of a single hoard, originally buried in several containers" (S1).
For further Icklingham coin hoards, see IKL 018 (1877 villa excavation), IKL 060 (1872 Dix's Charity Land) & IKL Misc Rom (found 1906 - CRN 10400 and CRN 10399 & 10401).
Formerly recorded as IKL MISC
