Full Description

Moat, occupied, isolated, near parish boundary, probably rectangular (S1). This site is marked on the SAU record map at TM 4084 8190C (S1).

Rookery Farm house (now derelict) appears an entirely 18th/19th c structure. Around the house are the rectangular remains of a homestead moat, waterfilled, with arms c 5.0m in width. There is no trace of an earlier structure within the enclosed area which is largely overgrown. A pond at TM 40848191 appears contemporary to the moat.
