Full Description

A bronze coin of Hadrian, a bronze coin of Maxianus (sic) and a `terra cotta' sherd were found in 1883 during the levelling of some mounds on Newmarket Heath (S1)(R1). Newmarket Heath crosses the Cambridgeshire/Suffolk boundary (in Exning parish) and includes Newmarket racecourse.
