Full Description

Two thirds arc of ring ditch, gap to NW, of circa 20m diameter. Within cropmark complex Shotley 011 (S1) (S2).
A probable Bronze Age round barrow is visible on aerial photographs as the cropmarks of two concentric ring ditches, centred on TM 23303523 in a field just to the north of Shotley village. The outer and inner ring ditches enclose areas of 16m and 10m in diameter respectively. A possible central grave pit is also visible, measuring roughly 2m in diameter. The ring ditches probably represent the remains of a Bronze Age burial mound. (S3-S6)
