Full Description

Dense burnt flint patch, not visible on surface but revealed when large hole excavated by farmer, (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s), in 1970s (?).
Extended for at least 10m, full extent not known. Flint solidly packed together, extracted in `solid lumps four to five feet across', included burnt beams of wood. Area bulldozed and now cultivated field (S1). Area defined on 1:2500 map by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) on edge of low (peaty?) area to NE (S2).
