Monument record LKD 007 - Home Heath, Lackford, Todd Excavation, (Mesolithic).

1947: Collection of over 5000 struck flints (see S4) and surface finds and excavation of horizon under blown sand and peat by Commander Todd and his wife. Two tranchet axes, three tranchet axe sharpening flakes, one pick, six gravers, twenty microliths, eight micro- burins, fifty scrapers, 164 blades/ flakes, two cores, two hammer stones (S1). Tools also said to include Neolithic petit tranchets etc. Excavation manuscript about possible Mesolithic structure (S2).

Further ex Todd finds seen for sale in shop (by John Wymer) on 6.11.1981 - drawings of cores, flakes and 1 broken microlith and list of 13 `blades & micro-blades', 1 `micro-burins', 1 `miss-hit', 2 blades/flakes, `borer', ` end of(?) tranchet axe, on Sample from a small block of (mastic) resin discovered during excavation by Todd in 1947 was radiocarbon dated to 9240 plus or minus 110 (OxA-2342), (S5).

Possibly the same as area marked as `Mesolithic' and by hatching at TL 7810 7115 on BSEMH map (S3). In same field as LKD 004 (Mesolithic).
